LA/OL-045 Sølvsberget

LA/OL-045 Sølvsberget is a summit in the same area as LA/OL-038, LA/OL-43, LA/OL-044. However, it has surprisingly only been activated once, and that was more than 10 years ago. Perhaps the reason could be that it’s 7 meters away from being a 2 pointer? I had never been there, so I decided that Sølvsberget should be the second summit of the day.

I parked at N 69 21.7, E 010 28.7. The parking is around 1.2 km away from the summit, and some 160 meter below. The trail is excellent, and it rather easy to hike to the top. The view from the summit is magnificent, and it is easy to find places to operate from.  If you’re lucky, one of the lunch tables can be used.

As on Hvalebykampen, I used my FT-817ND and the linked dipole, I started on 20 meter SSB and continued on 20 meter CW.  Totally, 15 QSOs from 11 DXXCs were worked, 8 on SSB and 7 on SSB. One of them was a S2S.

LA/OL-038 Hvalebykampen

Today I had the opportunity to do some SOTA activation again. The weather forecast was good, and I hoped to be able to activate two summits. I started with LA/OL-038 Hvalebykampen. It was four years since last time I visited the summit, and it was my third visit.  It’s a nice summit to activate. The weather was nice, the 20 meter in OK shape, and it was really a pleasure.

As usual I used my FT-817ND and a linked dipole. All QSOS were made on 20 meter. I started on SSB, and 13 QSOs came in the log. I the QSYed to the CW part of the band, and worked 14 more stations. After around 50 minutes all chasers were worked, and I went QRT. In total, I ended up with 27 QSOs from 14 DXXCs. Two of the QSOs were summit-to-summit (S2S); one of them from HB0 (Liechtenstein). Fun, it was the first time I chased a summit from HB0.

LA/AH-014 Toåsen

On May 12 it was time to visit LA/AH-014 Toåsen once more. The usual equipment (FT817ND and linked dipole) was used from the usual QTH. It wasn’t many chasers QRV (which heard me…), but seven QSos from four DXCCs were in the log when I went QRT.

DXCCs: EA, G, HB9, SP.

LB/OS-001 Grønliåsen

On May 7 I decided to participate in the 2 meter activation test. I hiked to my nearest summit, LB/OS-001. After arriving, I found out I had forgotten a connection cable to the linear amplifier, and hence I was limited to 5 watts. Nevertheless, I ended up with 4 QSOs, the best QRB was 96km.
