LAFF-0316, NO-1731 Rullestadtjern

This was my first activation of Rullestadtjern. It was dark, a lot of vegetation, and relatively wet soil. In order words, a place it is no reason to visit if it hadn’t been an “interesting” QTH. I used the KX-2 and a MP-1 antenna. The conditions were good, and I got 24 QSOs from 12 DXCCs on 10 and 15 meter (1 on SSB and 23 on CW).

LAFF-0544 / NO-2280 Trolldalen

I visited Trolldalen once again this afternoon. 20 QSOs from 11 DXCCs on 40, 30, and  17 meter came in the log in a relative short time. KX-2 and SuperAntenna MP-1 was used. All CW.

NO-2545 Sandvedparken

Sandvedparken is the first urban park I have activated. I planned to use KX-2 and AX-1. However, I didn’t know if I could trust this little antenna. Thus, I had a plan B (MP-1) and plan C (linked dipole). It was a little slow progress in the QSO-rate, but after 50 minutes I had the 10 needed QSOs in the log, all on 20 meter CW. Even though the AX-1 is a compromise antenna, it’s no doubt that it is quite effective.

LA/OL-184 Kvitberget

On June 22 I activated LA/OL-184 Kvitberget. Also here, “same procedure as last year”. I parked at Rudlandsætra, which is quite close to the summit.  The HF and weather conditions were the same as for the previous day. I got 28 QSOs from 15 DXCCs. One of them was a S2S. All on 20 meter.

LA/OL-263 Nårkampen

The second summit for the day (June 21) was LA/OL-263 Nårkampen. “Same procedure as last year” for this summit as well. The HF and weather conditions were the same as for Segalstadsæterkampen.  I got 16 QSOs from 12 DXCCs. All on 20 meter.

LA/OL-200 Segalstadsæterkampen

On June 21 and 22 I had the opportunity to activate three summits. For all of them I used a KX-2 and a linked dipole on a 6 meter fiberglass pole. The first summit was LA/OL-200 Segalstadsæterkampen. I parked at the usual place, 1 km away and 50 meter below the summit (this must be one of the easiest 4 pointers).  The HF conditions were fair, and it was partly sunny and 14 C. In the end, I had 17 QSOs from 8 DXCCs in the log. One of them was a S2S. All on 20 meter.

LB/OS-001 Grønliåsen

A short VHF activity test at Grønliåsen. The usual equipment, FT-817 ND, a 50 W amplifier, and a 3 element yagi (SotaBeams) suitable for portable operations. Not very great conditions at my QTH. In the end I ended up with 5 QSOs, best QRG was 414 km.
